This release note documents the versions of Always-On Management (AOM) that are provided with F5 iSeries platforms.

Supported hardware

This release supports these platform series:

  • BIG-IP i850 (C117)
  • BIG-IP i2000 (C115)
  • BIG-IP i4000 (C115)
  • BIG-IP i5000 (C119, C125)
  • BIG-IP i7000 (C118, C126)
  • BIG-IP i10000 (C116)
  • BIG-IP i11000 (C123, C124)
  • BIG-IP i15000 (D116, D120)

On these platforms, AOM updates are provided when you upgrade to a newer version of F5 software.

F5 BIG-IP iSeries Platforms

Features and fixes in version 8.1

New hardware support

This release adds support for the BIG-IP i15000-F (i15820-DF) FIPS-compliant platform.

Features and fixes in version 7.2

Fixes and enhancements

This release includes an enhancement to FIPS error handling for Full Box FIPS (also referred to as FIPS BIG-IP Platform with Embedded HSM) platforms. When a partition is halted due to a FIPS error, you can now use the AOM “I” command to display the FIPS error status.

This release adds NEBS support for the BIG-IP i15000 Series platforms.

This release adds support for the BIG-IP i15000 Series DC-powered platforms.

This release adds support for an updated 650W AC PSU on BIG-IP i2000/i4000 Series AC-powered platforms.

This release adds support for the BIG-IP i15000 Series, BIG-IP i5800-F, and i7800-F platforms.

ID 658853 iSeries Fixed an issue with memory usage that caused the BMC (AOM) firmware update to fail on iSeries platforms when upgrading from BIG-IP software versions 13.0.0, 12.1.2, or 12.1.1.

Known issues

ID 664964 iSeries The external management interface to the AOM can sometimes remain enabled although configuration shows disabled. To workaround this issue, use one of these methods:
  • From the AOM command menu, use the N option to disable DHCP and manually configure 0.0.0.0 for the IP address.
  • From the AOM command menu, use the A option to reset AOM.
  • Power cycle the unit.
