Advanced Routing on the BIG-IP system

The BIG-IP® system includes support for the following routing protocols through the use of ZebOS:

  • BFD
  • BGP
  • IS-IS
  • Multicast
  • OSPF
  • PIM
  • RIP

As an alternative to using the ZebOS Integrated Management Interface (IMI), you can configure Border Gateway Protocol (BGP) as well as Bidirectional Forwarding Detection (BFD) on the BIG-IP system using tmsh and iControl® REST. The configuration in tmsh and iControl REST is logically similar to ZebOS. By default, configuring dynamic routing using tmsh and iControl REST is disabled.
