What do I do after I deploy the BIG-IQ?

After you have licensed the BIG-IQ, you have a couple of options.

• If you plan to use the BIG-IQ only as a license server, refer to License Management in the F5 BIG-IQ Centralized Management: Device guide on support.f5.com.

• If you plan to use the BIG-IQ to manage devices, the BIG-IQ needs to discover those devices. To learn about how to do that, refer to How do I start managing BIG-IP devices from BIG-IQ? in the F5 BIG-IQ Centralized Management: Device guide on support.f5.com.

• To use the BIG-IQ to manage applications in the cloud, or use analytics to maintain your device health, or manage alerts and events generated by your devices, you need to install a data collection device. For details, refer to How do I deploy a Data Collection Device? in the Planning and Implementing an F5 BIG-IQ Centralized Management Deployment Device guide on support.f5.com.
