There are a few things you must do before you create a backup for a VELOS or rSeries devices running BIG-IP version 17.1 or later.
Before you create a backup for a VELOS device, you must provide the username and password for the partitions on that device. You can verify that the username and password are specified for the partitions for the VELOS device you want to back up by navigating to
F5OS > Platform / Devices
screen and clicking on the name of the VELOS device you are creating a backup for. If there is no user name, password, or assigned IP address for the VELOS partitions, the back up fails.
