Creating An L2 Inbound Topology

To configure an L2 inbound topology, you must set up an L2 wired device on the managed BIG-IP device. Within an L2 topology deployment, the traffic flows through the BIG-IP device and exposes no external IP addresses; it is effectively transparent on the wire.

  1. Traffic flows into the BIG-IP device.
  2. The BIG-IP device decrypts the traffic and sends it to the security devices.
  3. The BIG-IP device re-encrypts the traffic and sends it out to the applications.
