Creating An L2 Oubtound Topology

To configure an L2 outbound topology, you must set up an L2 wired device on the managed BIG-IP device. Within an L2 topology deployment, traffic is routed through the BIG-IP device, and exposes no external IP addresses, because it is effectively transparent on the wire.

  1. Traffic flows into the BIG-IP device.
  2. The BIG-IP device decrypts the traffic and sends it to Security Devices.
  3. The BIG-IP device re-encrypts the traffic and sends it out to the applications.
