STP Passthrough mode on r5K, r10K, r12k, r5K-DF, and r10K-DF
F5OS-A 1.8.3 release supports Spanning tree protocol (STP) Passthrough mode for the F5 r5000, r10000, r120000, r5000-DF and r10000-DF platforms. In the rSeries system, the STP passthrough mode forwards spanning tree bridge protocol data units (BPDUs) received pass through enabled interfaces to other pass through enabled interfaces. This mode essentially makes the traffic management system transparent to spanning tree BPDUs. By enabling STP passthrough mode, the system allows the spanning tree protocol data units to flow through without any interference, ensuring seamless communication and management of spanning tree information across the network.
Transmission Control Protocol-Connection Overload Protection (TCP-COP) for F5OS tenant
The TCP-COP feature helps reduce high CPU usage in the TMM process caused by an increase in concurrent flows. By enabling this feature, you can drop new connections from being established at the platform level when the queue size exceeds a configured threshold, thus maintaining stable TMM CPU usage.
