Restricted Substances at F5
All F5 products are European Union (EC) RoHS compliant
(2011/65/EU, as amended in (EU) 2015/863). F5 operates a RoHS compliance
program in line with EN 50581 and IEC 63000. Material declarations and
certificates of compliance are gathered as part of this process.
Disclaimer
F5 conducts data-gathering from suppliers to determine
the presence of REACH SVHCs and relies on those supplier declarations to
provide this declaration. As such, some data may be missing or incomplete.
This list is exhaustive given the information we have at the time of the
date listed on this document. We continually work to gather complete,
up-to-date data. REACH data-gathering is one component of the broader
restricted substance management program at F5.

F5 products claim the following RoHS exemptions. This
list is inclusive of the entire F5 product line. Not all exemptions may
apply to every product. Product-specific information is available upon
request.
- 6(a)-1: Lead as an alloying element in steel for machining purposes and in galvanized steel containing up to 0,35% lead by weight
- 6(b-1): Lead as an alloying element in aluminum containing up to 0,4% lead by weight
- 6(c): Copper alloy containing up to 4% lead by weight
- 7(a): Lead in high melting temperature type solders (that is, lead-based alloys containing 85% by weight or more lead)
- 7(c)-1: Electrical and electronic components containing lead in a glass or ceramic other than dielectric ceramic in capacitors, for example, piezoelectronic devices, or in a glass or ceramic matrix compound
- 15: Lead in solders to complete a viable electrical connection between semiconductor die and carrier within integrated circuit flip chip packages
REACH
SVHC Declaration
F5 hardware products are considered articles under the
European Union Regulation (EC) 1907/2006 “Registration Evaluation,
Authorization, and Restriction of Chemicals,” commonly referred to as
REACH.
Under the original (pre-2015) interpretation of the
legislation, to the best of our knowledge, F5 articles do not contain any
SVHC-197 substances above .1% article weight. However, in 2015 a new court
interpretation of the law shifted declaration of .1% w/w of the finished,
imported article toward the "once an article, always an article"
concept.
The following SVHC-197 substances are above .1% w/w of a
component within our product. This list is inclusive of the entire F5
product line. Not all SVHCs may be present in every product.
Product-specific information is available upon request.
- Lead Titanium Zirconium Oxide
- Hexahydromethylphathalic anhydride
- Hexahydro-4-methylphathalic anhydride
- Hexahydro-1-methylphathalic anhydride
- Hexahydro-3-methylphathalic anhydride
Restriction of Hazardous Substances Directive (RoHS) for China
Products listed on this declaration comply with
the Restriction of Hazardous Substances (RoHS) directive 2011/65/EU, and produce
required technical documentation in compliance with EN50581:2012.
In accordance with China's Management Methods for the
Restriction of the Use of Hazardous Substances in Electrical and
Electronic Products #32, the following information is provided regarding
the names and concentration levels of toxic substances or hazardous
substances that may be contained in the following product relative to the
standards set by the Standardization Administration of the People's
Republic of China.
