Windows 7 Support Notes

The following document describes current limitations, known issues, and fixes in APM to support Windows 7 clients and Internet Explorer 11. While these limitations and known issues are true for the predefined set of versions/hotfixes mentioned in this support document, we highly recommend that you refer to the product release notes as they become available to find the latest and updated information on these issues as they pertain to Windows 7 and Internet Explorer 11.

Internet Explorer 11 ignores "X-UA-Compatible" tag when Internet Explor 11 specifies it after "script" tag in the "HTML" head

Internet Explorer 11 introduced behavior changes that break Microsoft Office component support for SharePoint 2013 from the BIG-IP APM Portal Access. With this regression, you will not be able to modify documents using Microsoft Office applications (e.g. Word, Excel, Powerpoint).

NA][WIN] Client proxy settings do not work when using NA with Internet Explorer 11

Internet Explorer does not recognize Proxy Auto-Configuration (PAC) files specified with the "" prefix. As a result, Client proxy settings does not work when using Network Access with Internet Explorer 11.

This is a Microsoft issue: Internet Explorer 11 does not recognize PAC files specified with the "" prefix.

As a workaround, enable the Client Proxy Uses HTTP for Proxy Autoconfig Script option in the Network Access resource setting.

Internet Explorer 11 changed the user-agent string format and the APM Portal Access feature does not always recognize it correctly. As a result, some sites might be displayed incorrectly in Internet Explorer 11.

As part of the password management improvement, Internet Explorer 11 ignores the autocomplete=off option for the password input field. Therefore, a notification bar at the bottom of the page prompts you to choose a password saving action.

Internet Explorer 11 generates security exception with document.write() call in HTTPS

If the HTML page is loaded by HTTPS and contains script that uses the document.write() call to change closed documents, Internet Exporer 11 suppresses this operation even in emulation modes. As a result, the affected pages cannot work correctly in portal access mode.

[OWA 2013] Internet Explorer outputs a JavaScript error when a user clicks the LinkedIn button

The "LinkedIn" button is part of the new feature in Outlook Web App 2013, "Apps in Outlook Web App." Without this fix, Outlook Web App 2013 in Internet Explorer 11 outputs JavaScript error when you click the LinkedIn button.

The New Event dialog widget is shifted to the left and the Description field does not have an action widget

The rewritten dialog "Calendar>Event>new event" is shifted to the left and Description field does not have action widgets on top of the field.

When using Internet Explorer 11 with enabled EPM on Windows 7 (64 bit),the APM full webtop is empty

Windows 7 now has the Internet Explorer 11 browser. A user is able to configure the Internet Explorer "Enhanced protected mode", which breaks APM webtop. Users who try to connect to a virtual server using Internet Explorer 11 with EPM will receive an empty webtop without resources.

This can occur when logging out of BIG-IP APM while using Internet Explorer 11. To work around this issue, close Internet Explorer 11 to exit from the PWS.

When a user logs into Sharepoint 2013, clicks Recent > Announcements > New Announcements, and clicks the Calendar icon located opposite of the Expires field, the calendar does not show up.
