Summary:

BIG-IP Edge Client establishes secure communications to applications and networks. It provides users with full access to IP-based applications, resources, and intranet files as if they were physically working on the office network.

The Edge Client version 7.1.9.9 Update 1 is a security update to 7.1.9.9 and is now available on downloads.f5.com.

To view what version of 7.1.9.9 is installed on your client PC, use the Help > About function within the Edge Client to obtain the full version number.

To view what version of 7.1.9.9 is installed on your BIG-IP system, navigate to System > Software Management > APM Clients on the BIG-IP APM server.

    For 7.1.9.9, the version is apmclients-7199.2021.408.421-5222.0.iso.

    For 7.1.9.9 Update 1, the version is apmclients-7199.2021.527.907-5235.0.iso.

1015381 Fixed the CVE-2020-5896 issue that allowed the execution of signed .exe and MSI files due to weak file and folder permissions in the Edge Client Windows Installer Service's temporary folder. Refer to the https://support.f5.com/csp/article/K15478554 link for more information.
