Installing required BIG-IQ system components
Installing BIG-IQ system components on a BIG-IP device requires a licensed BIG-IP device running version 11.3 or
later.
You must install and keep up-to-date certain BIG-IQ system components on all BIG-IP
devices that are to be brought under central management. Otherwise, device discovery
will fail. These required components provide a REST framework required for the BIG-IQ
platform. To install these components manually, run the commands from the command line.
Important: When running this installation script, the traffic management
interface (TMM) on each BIG-IP device restarts. Therefore, before running this
script, verify that no critical network traffic is targeted to the BIG-IP
devices.
Installing these BIG-IQ components results in a REST framework that supports the
required Java-based management services.
