BGP and BFD protocols on the BIG-IP system

The BIG-IP® system includes support for the following routing protocols through the use of ZebOS:

  • BGP
  • IS-IS
  • Multicast
  • OSPF
  • PIM
  • RIP

As an alternative to using the ZebOS Integrated Management Interface (IMI), you can configure Border Gateway Protocol (BGP) on the BIG-IP system using tmsh and iControl REST. The configuration in tmsh and iControl REST is logically similar to ZebOS. By default, configuring dynamic routing using tmsh and iControl REST is disabled.

You can also configure the BFD protocol using tmsh and iControl® REST.
