Creating an alert server pool

Before creating an alert server pool, you should create an alert server node.

Create a pool of servers that are grouped together to receive and process alerts.

  1. On the Main tab, click Local Traffic > Pools.

    The Pool List screen opens.

  2. Click Create.

    The New Pool screen opens.

  3. In the Name field, type a unique name for the pool.

  4. If you want to send alerts to BIG-IQ® Logging Nodes, select a Load Balancing Method from the list.

  5. At the New Members setting, select Node List.

  6. In the Address field:

    • If you want to send alerts to the FPS Dashboard, select the IP address of your alert server.
    • If you want to send alerts to BIG-IQ Logging Nodes, select the IP address of an internal Self-IP on the Logging Node.
  7. In the Service Port field:

    • If you want to send alerts to the FPS Dashboard, select HTTP or HTTPS from the list.
    • If you want to send alerts to BIG-IQ Logging Nodes, type 8008 in the text box.
  8. Click Add.

  9. If you want to send alerts to BIG-IQ Logging Nodes, repeat steps 6-8 for every Logging Node.

  10. Click Finished.

The new pool appears in the Pools list.
