Overview: Detecting Automatic Transactions
You can use Fraud Protection Service (FPS) to check for automated (bot)
transactions on web pages. FPS uses behavior analysis and pattern matching technologies to find
bot transactions generated by web robots. The system looks at interactions such as mouse
movements, mouse clicks, and page read time to determine whether the client is human or a web
robot. The system can also check for automated manipulation of data in URL parameters and in AJAX
requests, and can check for removal of the Transaction Data cookie.
Automatic transactions detection is particularly useful on web pages where money transfers are
performed, which are popular targets of malware web robots. On a page like this, automatic
transactions detection can check for data manipulation in the destination account number and/or
the amount of money to be transferred, and send an alert to the FPS Dashboard if manipulation is
detected.
