General

Software Support Lifecycle change to 4 years on Long-Term Supported versions (x.1 releases)

F5 is changing the standard support phase of the BIG-IP software lifecycle for Long-Term Stability (LTS) releases from five (5) years to four (4) years. This means that EoSD and EoTS dates will now be reached 4 years after individual versions are released, with this change remaining in effect for all subsequent BIG-IP LTS releases. As F5 shifts to deliver more software-based solutions this change is intended to maintain alignment with the industry, while also helping facilitate the migration of customers BIG-IP's to newer versions.

New in 17.1.2 - All Modules

There are no new features specific to this release. This release includes several critical bug fixes, security enhancements, and other improvements. For more details, see the fixes and known issues.
Some of the improvements in this release include:
- BIND Upgrade: BIND 9.16 has reached EoL and does not receive security updates. Upgraded the BIND version from 9.16.48 to 9.18.27.
- FIPS Utility Enhancement: Added an option in fipsutil to disable PEM key import during partition initialization using "-k ... Disable PEM key import during INIT". This restriction remains effective until the partition is re-initialized.
